Dairy factory, waste water and sludge treatment
A new sludge dewatering device for waste sludge produced at local wastewater treatment plant in dairy factory in Moravian region, Czech Republic was installed. It is a slow-running screw press that also pumps sludge with low concentrations and therefore directly from the tanks. This process efficiency depends on sludge quality entering the technology. Manufacturer declares the ability to achieve a dry matter output concentration from 15 to 30 %. In some cases, this type of dewatering technology costs significantly less than conventional technologies, e.g. centrifuges.
